Hearing Aid Brands We Carry in Sioux Falls and Buffalo

Stanford Hearing Gives You Hearing Aid Brand Options

Walking into a clinic that carries one manufacturer means the recommendation is decided before you sit down. We carry five hearing aid brands instead, which is less convenient for us and considerably better for you, because the honest answer to "which is best" is that it depends entirely on your ears and your week.

Here is what each brand tends to be good at, and how we narrow it down with you.

Brand Rebuild - Phonak line up

Phonak

Hearing Aid

Phonak is where we start for most patients who name noise as the problem, and it carries the widest fitting range of anything we fit.

  • Current platform is EON, launched in August 2026, split into EON Sphere with a dedicated speech-in-noise chip and EON R without it.
  • Previous generations still fitted here. Infinio and Lumity remain real options at different price points.
  • Fitted from mild through profound loss, with the receiver matched to your audiogram.
  • CROS support on the EON R, for hearing in only one ear.

Read the full range on our Phonak overview, or go straight to the EON platform if you want the current generation.

The Phonak Infinio

  • Audéo Sphere Infinio — the previous generation, still fitted here, and still the longest-lasting battery in our Phonak range at up to 56 hours.
  • Audéo R Infinio — the previous generation's CROS-compatible option, for single-sided hearing loss.

The Phonak EON

  • Audéo EON Sphere — Phonak's current flagship. A dedicated second chip works alongside the main sound chip specifically to separate speech from background noise. Auracast ready, up to 38 hours.
  • Audéo EON R — the same current platform without the second chip, and the only EON family built for CROS, for hearing in only one ear.
Brand Rebuild - Phonak virtuo paradise

The Phonak Virto

Virto R Infinio — Phonak's current custom in-the-ear line, rechargeable and built entirely to your ear canal, for anyone who wants nothing visible behind the ear. We don't have a dedicated Stanford page for it yet, so this links to Phonak's own.

Starkey

Hearing Aid

Starkey has spent a decade putting sensors into hearing aids, and for the right patient that is not a gimmick.

  • Current lines are Edge AI and Omega AI, with Genesis AI and Evolv AI behind them.
  • Health and activity features, built into the device rather than an accessory.
  • Worth a look if you already track your health, and easy to ignore if you do not.

More on our Starkey overview.

A silver Starkey Omega AI hearing aid stands on a white background.

Omega AI

Starkey's current flagship. Health-tracking sensors run alongside the hearing technology, reading activity and steps the same way a hearing aid reads sound. Rechargeable, IP68 rated against dust and sweat, up to 51 hours on a charge.

A beige Starkey G Series hearing aid stands on a white background.

G Series AI

Starkey's accessible line, built for straightforward hearing without the health-tracking sensors. Still rechargeable and IP68 rated, with up to 50 hours on a charge.

Starkey Edge AI hearing aids rest on a purple background.

Edge AI

The same health-tracking platform at Starkey's next tier down. Rechargeable, IP68 rated, and available with a telecoil and CROS support for hearing in only one ear.

ReSound tends to win when a patient describes their life in terms of devices rather than rooms.

  • Current line is Sensia, released in August 2026, with Auracast and LE Audio built in.
  • Two active connections at once, so a phone and a TV streamer coexist without repairing.
  • Small microRIE shells, for anyone whose first concern is being seen wearing them.
  • Fitted mild through severe, which is a narrower range than Phonak covers.

Our ReSound overview goes tier by tier.

Brand Rebuild - ReSound Nexia

ReSound Nexia

With a focus on natural sound quality and comfort, the ReSound Nexia helps individuals with hearing loss stay connected and engaged in various listening environments.

A silver Resound Sensia hearing aid stands.

Sensia

ReSound's current platform. An AcoustIQ classifier reads the room and adjusts before you notice a change, with Auracast and Bluetooth LE Audio built in.

A red ReSound Vivia hearing aid stands on a white background.

Vivia

The previous flagship generation, still fitted alongside Sensia. Its own dedicated chip for separating speech from noise is its real edge over Nexia; battery life and connectivity are close between the two.

Hearing Aids

Unitron

Unitron is the brand we reach for when someone wants a clear, uncomplicated device without paying for features they will never trigger.

  • Current lines are Moxi and Insera.
  • Straightforward value, with the sound processing that matters and less of what does not.
  • A sensible route if this is your first pair and you would rather not spend at the top of the range.

Why Choose Stanford Hearing for Your Hearing Aid Brands

We have been locally owned for 20-plus years, and we are voted Sioux Falls Local Best 20 years. We carry five premium hearing aid brands, Phonak, ReSound, Starkey, Unitron and Oticon, and recommend based on your hearing, your lifestyle, and the places you most want to hear well.

Free consultations come with no pressure to buy. Your first appointment is a complimentary assessment of your hearing and your needs, with no obligation. Every purchase includes a 10-day trial so you can wear your hearing aids in real life, at home, at work and out with people, before you decide. If they are not right for you, return them inside your trial window for a full refund. Your hearing aids come with the manufacturer's warranty, including loss and damage coverage, and terms vary by brand and model. A price match guarantee means you will not overpay locally, and if a nearby clinic beats our price on a comparable device, we meet it. 12 months no-interest financing spreads the cost into monthly payments, subject to credit approval. Original Medicare does not cover hearing aids, and many Medicare Advantage plans include a hearing benefit, with coverage varying by plan. We are in-network with all major insurance providers, including Medicare Advantage, and we verify your benefits before your appointment.

Find us in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Buffalo, Minnesota, and we serve surrounding communities across the region. Schedule a free consultation and try more than one brand before you decide.

Your Questions About Hearing Aid Brands, Answered

Which hearing aid brand is best?

None of them, for everyone. Phonak tends to lead in noise and covers the widest hearing range, ReSound leads on streaming and discretion, Starkey adds health features, Unitron keeps it simple. At Stanford Hearing we fit all five and pick from your audiogram and your listening life rather than from a favorite.

Are your devices locked to your clinic?

No. We fit unlocked devices, which means another provider can service and adjust them. Some sellers lock devices to their own software, and that is worth asking about anywhere you shop, including here.

Can I try more than one brand?

Yes, and we encourage it. We program two or three candidates to your audiogram at the appointment so the comparison happens on your ears. Every purchase then carries a 10-day trial on top of that.

Do you carry Oticon?

As a limited, by-order offering rather than a stocked line. Local patients rarely ask for it, so we do not lead with it, and if you specifically want Oticon we can order it for you.

What if my brand is not on your list?

Tell us which one and why. We may still be able to service what you already own, and if the brand you want is one we do not carry, we would rather say so than talk you into something else. Our five brands cover most hearing profiles, and the fitting matters more than the badge.

Does insurance change which brand I can get?

Sometimes, particularly with a third-party benefit administrator. We verify your benefits before your appointment so you know what is covered before you commit, rather than discovering a restriction at the fitting.
