Audiology and Hearing Aid Services
When it comes to your hearing health, it’s important to be proactive in keeping it in tip-top shape. From age-related hearing loss to damage from noise exposure, there are a number of things that can negatively impact your hearing loss.
At Stanford Hearing Aids, we understand how important your ability to hear is when communicating with the world around you. That’s why we staff audiologists and hearing instrument specialists to offer the following important services to patients:
While our ears are generally self-cleaning, there are instances where you may find yourself dealing with earwax impaction. If you are experiencing any pain in your ear, temporary hearing loss or a ringing or buzzing, it’s possible you have blockage from earwax. Our staff will evaluate your ear and can provide earwax removal and follow-up care when needed.
Custom Earmolds and Earplugs
Stanford Hearing Aids provides custom earmolds and earplugs for individuals seeking a more personalized fit when it comes to hearing protection. Our custom products offer you the peace of mind when surrounded by extreme noise, in addition to a comfortable and flawless fit.
Diagnostic Audiologic Evaluations
If you are referred or in need of a diagnostic audiologic evaluation, chances are you may be coping with hearing loss already. Our comprehensive testing includes pure-tone evaluation, air and bone conduction, word recognition and speech reception thresholds, in addition to a physical exam with an otoscope
Hearing Aid Evaluation and Selection
If we detect you have hearing loss, a detailed hearing aid evaluation will be offered to help you determine the best devices for your particular needs. Hearing aid styles, models and features will be considered to ensure you get the best hearing aid for you. Because we stand behind our hearing aids, all devices fit include a 75-day trial. If the hearing aid doesn’t meet your expectations, you simply return it to us and we will refund your money.
Hearing Aid Dispensing & Fitting
Once the hearing aid evaluation has been completed, our office will dispense your devices and perform a thorough fitting. Our process includes computerized real ear fittings, something only 30 percent of hearing health professionals utilize nationwide. This fitting allows us to measure how loud the hearing aid is in your unique ear anatomy, meaning we take the guesswork out of finding that perfect fit.
Hearing Aid Repairs
Hearing aids are complex, miniature pieces of technology. Due to their advanced nature, they will require repair and maintenance from time to time. We perform hearing aid repairs and professional cleanings onsite. This means you have to spend less time without your hearing and can be confident it’s being kept in optimal condition.
Live Speech Mapping
Live speech mapping is another step of the hearing aid fitting process. This advanced technology allows audiologists to see and evaluate how you’re hearing with your new device. This is another step in making sure your hearing aid is working to the best of its ability for your specific needs.
Tinnitus Evaluation and Management
When it comes to tinnitus, that annoying ringing, buzzing and whooshing sound can be intrusive to your everyday life. We offer diagnosis and treatment options for tinnitus, including: hearing aids, sound machines and retraining therapy.
